List building is the heart of of success in internet marketing so here are some simple “list building tips” you can use to make it fun and easy to build a responsive email list.

Most people are horrible at building a list. Some people completely over analyze everything. Other people assume they know “marketing” and proceed to spam or use hyped up desperation tactics in their marketing that repels others…

But some people actually do a little bit of strategic thinking and create list building strategies and systems that work… easily and simply and here are just a few list building tips to help you.

I just talked with one of my teammates who has received over 580 opt ins through his lead capture page using NOTHING OTHER than free and cheap safelists of all things!

He’s using the same exact opt in page that others are using who consistently email, call or send support tickets whining about how they are lost, confused, overwhelmed and “just don’t get it” and it makes you wonder…

It’s not really that hard once you know the tricks of the trade and it’s not really their fault. Most people just don’t get the right kind of training and are left to struggle alone to try and figure it out…

List building doesn’t have to be hard… or complicated. List building is one of the easiest and simplest things to do once you learn a couple basic principles of marketing that have been around for MORE decades than I care to remember… it just takes a bit of patience from both the experienced as well as the new marketer.

Here are some fundamental List Building Tips in our niche that when understood and appreciated, will turn your list building into a seamless, consistent, and fun adventure:

1. KNOW YOUR TARGET PROSPECT.

Your target prospect is someone who is already in this industry. Your target prospect is also someone who is new to this industry but is searching for information on how to make money from home. There are millions of them.

A full 97 of every 100 “network marketers” or “affiliate marketers” are spending more money than they are taking in. They are always looking for information, systems and training on how to get better at generating traffic, building a list and making sales. They are always looking for the “better mousetrap” and because of the internet, they are considering or already in more than one or two programs and will be quitting and replacing those with a new set each and every two to three months.

FIND THEM. They are so easy to find.

2. Your target prospects are NOT looking for you to “pitch” them on your wonderful “program” or product… AT ALL. So stop leading with your primary business. It hasn’t worked yet and it won’t.

Lead with what they are truly looking for… “How To” Information on getting better at marketing and making money.

Your prospect is NOT looking to “do attraction marketing” or to “become a magnetic sponsorer” or any of that. Those are just marketing terms.

Your prospect doesn’t want to make 587 youTube videos, doesn’t want to be anyone’s “guru” and surely doesn’t want to post 1285 articles on EzineArticles…

Your prospect doesn’t want to learn the latest google search algorithms or the intricacies and differences between one way, no follow, two way or even three way back links…

STOP THAT. You’re totally blowing it trying to show off.

3. Your Target Prospect is looking for SIMPLE WAY TO MAKE MONEY FROM HOME. PERIOD. If you fight with that… you’ll lose. Every time.

Give them that. If you honestly don’t have that… find it.

Fast.

Like, by tomorrow…

…or else your complicated “business system” will continue to fail to profit and you’ll keep bouncing from program to program and system to system…

The VAST majority of this industry is new to marketing.

They don’t have much experience here… and they are not remotely interested in working hard, for hours at a time on things that are too complicated and in programs that don’t pay enough for their efforts.

Oh… and they don’t care about you being some hot shot guru… posturing and posing. So stop that. It’s annoying your prospects and they’re running away from you.

Here’s a list building formula that has worked for us in THIS NICHE to consistently attract good quality people and have them WANT to work with us:

1. I study this niche every day. I know them better than they know themselves sometimes and I ONLY look for others who are already seriously interested in learning this craft. I look for people who have been around the block and who have been beat up by a couple programs already… the ones who’ve stopped thinking that they can change the ancient art and science of human nature and persuasion… marketing and the sales process…

2. I invite them to receive free information about how to use the internet to make money in a simple, quick and lucrative way.

3. I build my list.

4. I follow up. Human touch. Important. Return your calls as much as you can. Return your emails. Be authentic and real and genuine. They are normal people and so are you. The internet is full of hype, fakeness and lies and pretenders. People have uncanny perception… and they sniff out a fake a mile away…

Use blogs, articles, emails and video to deliver valuable content which builds credibility, trust and rapport. Invite your prospects to call or email you with questions…

5. Promote a starter program that is low cost and accessible to the masses so you can generate some up front cash and build a list of BUYERS! Most people miss this. And they fail to stay in business long term.

Most people will NOT join your primary program. Deal with it. Get over it. It’s not personal at all. It’s just business. That’s how this industry works. It’s a number’s game.

But why leave so much money on the table by not offering your hot prospects something they can access for less?

6.Use a simple 3 Step List Building Process to focus and streamline your sales system:

A.) Opt ins build your list and direct to an information page.

B.) Conduct a brief 5 minute interview to qualify the prospect and set the tone of professionalism.
A simple interview can be duplicated.

C.) Direct prospects to a professional sales page and Business Overview Call (recorded is ok).

That’s it. Keep it simple. They’ve seen and received all the information, so now simply direct them to the sign up and getting started process… if they balk or hesitate… let them go.

They’ll stay on your autoresponder and your emails will always invite them to call or email you with any questions.

7.) Use Automated systems to do the heavy lifting of the sales presentation and follow up for you. You provide the human touch when requested by your prospect or briefly in the beginning to show them your system is professional.

And you focus on advertising and promoting your feeder program which has a much broader market, is easier to promote and build a bigger list…

Your BUYERS list will grow. Plug those people into the system and training. Leaders will rise and some people will upgrade and join you in higher level programs on the back end or they will buy your upsells (affiliate marketers).

All you focus on is on advertising… and building relationships with the people on your list.

Everything else should be highly automated, simple and duplicable or else you and many others will continue to fail.

Use some Attraction Marketing. But NOT the futile, wasteful, vanity filled, narcissistic “EGO-Marketing”… that is not duplicable and nobody really cares…

Then build a BUYERS List.
Automate and Leverage.
But NEVER lose the human touch.
