How to Create a Facebook Fan Page in 5 Quick Steps

People keep talking  about how they are using a facebook fan page to build their business and make sales. You’ve decided to finally create a facebook fan page and get rolling.

So now you’re here, wondering if this post will help you.

Be of good cheer.

We don’t waste people’s time with fluff, so you’re about to learn exactly what you came for.

This is the quickest, easiest way to set up a Facebook Fan Page that generates likes, email leads, and sales.

1. Go to any other facebook page

Once you get to any other facebook fan page (click for one), then click on the blue button you’ll see on the top right side that says, “Create Page.”

Facebook fan page create page

Then select which category your business is:

1. Local business or place (shop owners in physical stores).

2. Company, Organization or Institution (best for online marketers, affiliate marketing, network marketing, coaching etc.).

3. Brand or Product, Artist, Brand (Coca-Cola, J-Lo, Beyonce, Beats Headsets etc).

4. Public Figure (politicians, business people, industry icons etc).

5. Entertainment (bands, movies, albums, actors etc).

6. Cause or Community (GreenPeace, PETA, Right or Left Wing Wackos etc).

If you are unsure which you belong to, select Company, Organization, or Institution.

After you choose your business type, you’ll be asked to fill out some infor.

This information will be different depending on which category you picked. For example, if you picked “Company, Organization, or Institution”, you’ll be asked to choose a sub-category and then to type your company name. Simply select whatever info best describes your kind of business. You can’t “fail” this test so just do your best.

When complete, don’t forget to click “I agree to Facebook Pages Terms”, then click the blue “Get Started” button.

2. Complete the basic information requested to help your SEO, branding, visibility and positioning.

During this step, you’ll select and upload a profile picture, complete your “about section,” and set up your Facebook Web Link.

When selecting a Profile Pic, be sure you pick an image that is 180px by 180px. Once uploaded, the image will show on your fan page at about 165px by 165px. And for all that is good and Holy, please choose an actual picture of YOU and not a logo, or a bottle of vitamins or a dog, cat or pet turtle. People come to your page to connect with YOU, not your favorite sunset or lizard, or fruit juice. 🙂

Once you’ve either uploaded your profile picture or imported it from your website, click save photo and click next. If you want to leave your picture blank for now, its ok to click the “skip” button for now, but I recommend HIGHLY getting your profile pic up there to position YOU as your brand, after all, branding and building your brand’s relationship with your market is what this is all about. Without a nice pic of you, what’s the point, right?

Next, you’ll want to complete some basic info about your business. When filling in your basic information, consider being clear and concise while also including keywords relevant to your business. This will help you get ranked in the search engines and also allow people searching in facebook to find you easier as well.

For example, if you are a social media consultant, you’ll want to use other keywords in your description like Facebook or Twitter marketing. This’ll help you get more leads through Facebook search later on and also on the search engines like bing, google and yahoo.

Then type in your website URL and if you have a question with a yes and no radio button present, be sure to click yes, then click “Save Info”.

Lastly, you’ll want to set up your Facebook “sexy link.” Think about this like buying a pretty, sexy domain name from GoDaddy. This is the link your potential customers will type in to find you. Make it short and memorable. If you’re in a personal brand business where YOU are the brand, then always try your First Name & Last Name as your first option. If not available, then try a variation that includes your first and last name in the link.

Facebook will recommend you use your business name you entered earlier however, if that name is complicated or hard to remember, you may consider something shorter and more memorable.

Click “Set Address”.

3. Get familiar with your Facebook Admin Panel

Only the fan page administrators can see the admin panel. The admin panel highlights core pieces of your page including Notificationsnew people who have liked your page, and insights which will tell you how well your fan page is doing.

Additionally, use the “Edit Page” navigation option to update your info or add new administrators. You can also use the “Build Audience” navigation option to start inviting people to your page.

Be careful how you use this though. You’ll want to invite folks after your page is filled with good content which brings us to the next step.

4. Fill your page with relevant content, stories, images and tips.

Congratulations, you now have your basic page set up. This step is what will really decide how successful your page will be. It also takes the most time.

You’ll want to focus on filling your page with status updates, milestones, images, videos, and other content that shares value with your fans and tells your brand story.

Quick Tip: Follow my page and posts and follow along. I constantly share information, tips, photos and other content on my page which you can model and mold to fit whatever your page’s goals or brand is. Click here to review the content on my page and model on your own.

Additionally, add in a cover photo to help build your brand. The cover photo should be 851px wide by 215px tall.

5. Build custom facebook app funnels on your fan page to generate traffic, collect email leads to build your list and close more sales.

After you’ve delivered amazing content through your Fan Page wall, start implementing strategies to drive traffic, leads, and sales from your page. Start with the Simple Freedom 3 Tab Formula.

The Simple Freedom 3 Tab Formula:

1.The first tab will focus on collecting email leads from your fan page.

2. The second will focus on capturing more traffic, and

3. The third will enable you to sell your products through your fan page.

Howdy would you mind letting me know which webhost you’re working with? I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different internet browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot quicker then most. Can you recommend a good web hosting provider at a reasonable price? Many thanks, I appreciate it!|
