As with any new venture we get involved in, there are many key factors that are involved. When considering a new venture or business, you must think of all the physical things that must be done, all the virtual, the business planning, the financial, and the many other things that must be done in order to set a solid foundation for your business.

As with all businesses, there are times when adversity will become part of the growing process. This is when you must practice patience in your adversity. “This is called “courageous patience,” the willingness and the ability to “stay the course” in the face of uncertainty, doubt and often criticism…” (Brian Tracy)

Have we not all found ourselves at a platue or at a point where it seemed as though there was nowhere else to move or venture? Many of us get so close to realizing our goals, but….we don’t Stay the Course long enough to reap the rewards of all of our hard work.

In my experience, this is a critical time period. The period between the launching of a new venture and the results that come from that venture. This is the time that we reflect on what we have accomplished so far, and we make goals, yet, never waivering from our current course. This is the time that most people who could really make it, lose their nerve. They get themselves all worked up and cannot stand the suspense of not knowing, of possible failure or triumph. This is where they break and run. They quake and quit their business.

The True Leader is the person who stands firm and refuses to ever consider the possibility of failure. These turning points are the moments where the resolution, or lack thereof, show the true leadership of that one person. Courageous patience is the test of leadership.
