Skepticism KILLS Your Business
I know, I know… there should be a “healthy” level of skepticism…
Let’s keep this in context…
A skepticism that keeps you hunting for the “messiah” marketing mentor or guru to help you but then FREEZES YOU INTO INACTION is NOT worth a hill of beans in the marketing world.
Direct Response Marketing offers NO GUARANTEES. NONE.
I have a buddy of mine that is a self proclaimed skeptic and has not yet decided which $40 ad to run!!!
A $40-$60 dollar ad spend man!!!! Cmon already… THAT level of skepticism will KILL YOUR BUSINESS and you’re NOT truly “marketing” if THAT is an issue… you’re trying to slam the home run out of sheer desperation and that is GAMBLING, not Direct Response Marketing…
I hope my reply to my buddy will help you and others understand the “feel” for this arena a bit better…

To be blunt buddie…
too much skepticism KILLS your business.
We’re talking about less than $100 ads here bro…
It’s not madison avenue and NUMBERS reign supreme.
NOTHING in marketing is THAT scientific that
they come with guarantees of response etc…
Test, test, test…
Even the pros are in the hall of fame with a 1% response…
which means that 99% are losers in the advertising game.
But you have to start with SOMETHING
You can NOT sit and be skeptical and do nothing because
you feel you “may” lose… get this straight right now…
WE ALL LOSE
more times than we win
Those that win long term know this
and are ok with it because when you win
you tend to learn things that help you win again
You optimize your approach, your subject lines, your ads…
You get better…
You learn your target market’s mind a bit more and work
on your copy more and you optimize…
NO MENTOR can teach you that part… the part that
stops the disease of skepticism… that’s your call buddy
But my ads are EVERYWHERE.
That’s all I can tell you
And I don’t expect NOT ONE to pull better than a measly
1-3% response and I’m happy with it… been running with those
numbers for YEARS…
It’s marketing bud… welcome to the party.
